Summer To-Do and To-Be List

I have been thinking about posting this for the past couple of weeks, but just never got around to it. It has been a very busy spring for me, but the good kind of busy where you’re meeting and hanging out with loads of cool and wonderful people.

I can’t remember where, but at the beginning of spring I read a list of things to do and to be to really make the most of spring. I never got around to make a list of my own, but sat down a few weeks back to make a list for summer instead.

Picture taken on my walk today

Already late spring / early summer has been absolutely gorgeous in Ireland, so hopefully that will continue. Either way, here’s my list (in no special order):

  • Walk along the seafront at least twice a week (lately I have done this almost daily)
  • 21 Day Yoga Challenge (starting this tomorrow, and you can too)
  • 750 WordsΒ (I am not committing to do this daily, yet, but am putting it in as a reminder that this is important to me)
  • Sit in the sun for 5 minutes whenever possible
  • Show up for myself
  • Make a budget
  • 1 week strictly Paleo
  • Eat berries and cream
  • Bike to Howth (a peninsula about 10km from me)
  • Practice speed reading and mind mapping (after attending a course at work about a month ago)
  • Be selfish (this one is actually from my therapist, and goes together with “show up for myself”. I am working on putting myself first, instead of always trying to look after everyone around me.)
  • Spend time with all the wonderful people I have in my life
  • Spend time alone
  • Spend time in nature or near the ocean
  • Bike to work at least twice a week
  • Eat more fish, veggies and fruit
  • Play more guitar

What would be on your list for the summer?

  1. Sounds like a damn good list to me. I’ll have to get back to you on my own list, but it probably is time to make one πŸ™‚

Looks good! I’ve been rethinking my priorities and goals lately, so this is a timely post for me. Top on my list for the moment is to figure out how to make a career of the things I want to do. (Mostly that means figuring out how to navigate freelance writing/data entry and making time spent on writing and reading a priority.) Good luck with your list!

    • Figuring out how to make a career out of what you want to do is a great – and huge – task! Good on you for doing it. Figuring out what I want to do over the next couple of years is actually on my list too, although it is on my work-list because we will be working on Personal Development Plans this month. Best of luck!

  3. That’s a nice list! Mine would have a couple of bulletpoints in common with yours, such as more guitar playing (also more piano again), having social times with selected people as well as me times, going for walks regularly (the ocean is not in sight here, though *sigh*), and eating healthily. Finances also need to be tabled. And I have to look about myself better in terms of exhaustive depression from which I suffer more or less constantly. I want to find ways to deal with inner tension more effectively because that still vexes me quite a lot. Then the PhD which turns out to really become a project of the heart. And I want to be a good partner for my hubby. πŸ™‚

How are you doing overall? I see a lot of things you read and do, but I’d like to know how you are feeling with yourself and your life right now (if you don’t mind to tell me). πŸ™‚

    Happy vibes from Cologne! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
