August Twitterature 2013

This month I’ve read 5 books, but have shared almost no book reviews as I was back in Denmark on holidays with no laptop. As always, this is a part of Modern Mrs. Darcy’s Roundup and consists of short, casual book reviews in less than 140 characters.

Søster til låns (Borrowed Sister) by Anna Bridgwater: A Danish book on losing your sister to cancer.

A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry: A fascinating look at India’s history 1940’s-70’s, struggles and optimism, but you’ll be warned, ending is heartbreaking.

Brave New World by Aldous Huxley: #Classic dystopian novel on what might happen in a society based on capitalism and stability, with no room for passion, art and emotions.

Inside Steve’s Brain by Leander Kahney (I listened to the audiobook for the Danish translation): A decent #biography of Steve Jobs, but there must be better ones out there.

Sandler Success Principles : 11 Insights that will change the way you Think and Sell by David Mattson & Bruce Seidman: Rather basic psychology, but has some interesting insights.

As always I invite you to find me and connect with me on Goodreads.

  1. I’m embarrassed to admit this…but I’m trying to decide if I’ve ever read A Brave New World, or not. It seems like one of those books I should remember. Hmm.

(And by the way, I really enjoyed your recent review of To Sell Is Human, and the book itself. Dan Pink hasn’t disappointed me yet.)
