26 Things to Do Before Turning 27

So earlier this week I turned 26. I recently read this post on choosing one thing for each year of age, to do before your next birthday and decided I would put together a list. Some of the items on the list are of a personal/private nature so I will not share those, but I thought I would share the rest as inspiration.

  1. Work-related
  2. Read BrenΓ© Brown
  3. Go for a hike in the Wicklow Mountains
  4. Road trip on the West coast of Ireland
  5. Personal
  6. Write about my religious journey from Christianity through Islam to Atheism.
  7. Do Mara’s awesome-looking course Permission Granted
  8. Personal
  9. Read 52 books
  10. Make Paleo banana bread
  11. Personal
  12. Set up stitch n’ bitch club
  13. Make use of the local cultural offerings in my new area
  14. Personal
  15. Go to the nearby farmer’s market at least once a month
  16. Work on letting go of the need to look after everyone
  17. Personal
  18. Eat delicious dark chocolate
  19. Do yoga class at least once a month
  20. Work on seeing stress as a friend
  21. Practice meditation
  22. Personal
  23. Hugs & cuddles for everyone
  24. Buy a car
  25. Personal
  26. Perfect homemade kombucha

Do you make a list of things you want to do between birthdays?

  1. Don’t tell me you haven’t been to Wicklow? I’d live to join for a hike πŸ™‚

    • I’ve been to Glendalough, but it was raining so didn’t actually do much hiking. And since I live in Bray now, I do technically live in Wicklow πŸ˜‰

Would be so much fun to do it with you! Haven’t seen you in ages!

      • You moved! Sounds good! I could come by for a sunday brunch in Bray to plan the hike πŸ˜‰

      • Oooh, that would be awesome! Send me a msg on FB and we’ll set something up πŸ˜€

  2. Great list. I love this idea. What is a stitch ‘n bitch club? And..you have a driver’s license already, right? I’m assuming since you want a car. πŸ™‚

    • A stitch ‘n bitch club is for people who knit and crochet and get together to do so while talking πŸ˜‰ one of my new flat mates and one of my good friends actually originally met at one of these and have asked if we should set up one together. Should be fun and I can get back to do my crocheting πŸ™‚

  3. Number 6 looks really interesting and I’d love to hear about your journey

    • Cheers! Yeah I could write several posts going from Evangelical Christian to non-mainstream Muslim, and today Atheist πŸ˜›

  4. Quite the list! πŸ˜€ Some of the items sound rather easy and fun but some very challenging (like the lots of reading and writing). I’ve never made such a list because I tend to create a lot of pressure on myself anyway, so I go better with focusing on constantly pursuing a handful of things instead of setting a deadline for having them done, but I can understand that such lists can also be a motivator for making more of your life and being committed to your goals.
