September 2015 – Quick Reviews

The past month has – for once – been a good month for fiction. I’ve made it a priority to add a bit more fiction to my life, and I’ve really enjoyed getting lost in some good novels.

the white queenThe White Queen (The Cousins’ War) by Philippa Gregory (currently $2.93 on Kindle): The story of Elizabeth Woodville who became known as The White Queen during The War of the Roses. Very enjoyable and highly recommended if you enjoy historical novels.

the red queenThe Red Queen (The Cousins’ War) by Philippa Gregory: The second book in The Cousins’ War trilogy, about Margaret Beaufort who fought to have her son Henry Tudor put on the throne.

landlineLandline by Rainbow Rowell: Sweet, magical realism and a story of how we value our relationships, the way we change and remembering what really matters. Almost as enjoyable as Eleanor & Park.

Inside-of-a-Dog-coverInside of a Dog: What Dogs See, Smell, and Know by Alexandra Horowitz: Absolutely fascinating insight to how dogs experience the world. From their senses to how well they read our body language and have truly evolved to live with us. Highly recommended, especially to dog lovers. (Full review)

As always, I’m linking up with Modern Mrs Darcy.
